TDM back in The University Of Wales Trinity Saint David Workshop

The great recent news is that TDM is back in the workshop about to have the new gearing installed along with the go kart chain which will replace the toothed belt. This should make it probably 10x as strong and much less likely to fail on my 2500 mile journey to all 18 of the Maggie’s cancer centres in the UK up as far North as Inverness.

Nearly reversed over by a bus.

This was too close for comfort. I had plenty of time to get my air horn out but discovered that it was empty which was why I started to shout.

What you can’t see is that there was a third bus directly behind me, which was the one that hooted when the bloke put his hand up.

At least I managed to survive and then gave a TV interview from inside Maggie’s half an hour later.

Arriving at The Liberty Stadium

The continuation when I arrive outside The Liberty Stadium.
My normal story starts at 10:58 and the hood blows off at 14:13 scratching the lens of one of my cameras.

For those who have a Garmin Virb Elite you may be surprised to learn, as I was, that what appears to be just a lens protector at the front is actually a lens. How do I know? I removed what I thought was just a lens cover and put clingfilm there instead in case it rains. I tried it yesterday for the first time and all of the footage was slightly out of focus so it looks like I’ll have to polish the scratch out on the lens and put it back.

Enthusiasts are very often just good people

We had a great day on and around the Gwili Railway near Carmarthen.

Even though it wasn’t a cold day as a result of the weight I’ve lost I eventually became freezing cold and also had to top up with morphine.

Thanks to Dan I had somewhere warm to sit and ended up talking to him for more than an hour.

A very nice fire.

Thanks for your warmth Dan, in both meanings.

Another interview on Swansea Bay TV

This time I was lucky enough to be joined by Sarah Hughes who’s the manager of my local Maggie’s in Singleton Hospital which is the only one I’ve seen so far.

My friend Rob helped film the behind the scenes footage. Once again I overrun as I’ve got too much to say.

If you are on Facebook I have shared the stream of the interview but it’s interesting to see the other side of the programme.
